Background information: Despite the fact that the RS422 interface has been specially designed for industrial applications, it does not fulfill all expectations. While it is well protected against interfering radiation, it is very sensitive as regards differences in potential. Already relatively small differences can result in a disruption. For long distances, we therefore recommend the isolation of RS422 connections.
