Application:
Accelerate your printer

RS232 Serial Buffer

Product properties:

  • Fast temporary storage of serial data
  • Individual parameterization of the two interfaces
  • Format, baud rate and log conversion
  • Integrated block mode allows for the automatic repetition of individual printing/plotting commands.
  • Ready for operation with RS232 printers and plotters

Background information:
Serial buffers are mainly used in conjunction with plotters. Plotters are relatively slow output devices. Plotting times of 20 minutes and more are fairly common occurrences. In most cases, this means that the respective computer is blocked for the same period of time. With our buffer, this time can be drastically reduced, depending on the software and the baud rate. Due to the copy and block function of the buffer, you have the option to repeat printing as often as necessary without touching the capacity of your computer. Thanks to a return channel, the digitizing and query functions of the plotter remain intact. All parameters of both interfaces of the serial buffer can be individually set. It is therefore possible to use the device also as a log and baud rate converter.
