Press Release March 2026
data.station enables secure retrofitting:
Secure data exchange for existing systems
With the new data.station (Item No. 50544), Wiesemann & Theis GmbH presents an efficient solution for the safe retrofitting of existing industrial facilities. Many existing machines communicate via insecure protocols such as standard FTP for production purposes. The data.station serves as a compact, hardened data hub for the DIN rail.
Thanks to two physically separate network interfaces, the device enables a strict separation between the machine network and the OT network. For example, while the machine supports only the less secure FTP or SMBv1 protocol and writes your data to the data.station’s internal storage (5 GB) via this method, Access from the parent network is highly secure via SFTP, SCP, or SMBv3. This effectively protects sensitive infrastructure from attacks without requiring costly upgrades to machine control systems. Detailed user management allows for the individual configuration of access rights for each interface. The data.station is now available for €348.00 (plus VAT).
For many years, Wiesemann & Theis GmbH has been developing and manufacturing innovative components for automation, industrial communication, and remote access at its Wuppertal facility. The company’s products are used worldwide in industry, building automation, and IT infrastructure.
