The new Web-IO Time Switch

Network specialist Wiesemann & Theis has expanded their line of Web-IOs with the Time Switch, a network time switch that enables flexible switching using online calendars.

In contrast to usual time switches, the Web-IO Time Switch supports the iCal standard (*.ics) and can therefore be easily managed using common online calendars (such as Google or iCloud). This offers users the flexibility of setting dates and times for switching operations flexibly from their online calendar. Changes do not have to be made in the device itself, but rather can be made online from a browser or directly from a cell phone.

The Web-IO Time Switch 4xOut features four switching outputs, each of which can be associated with its own calendar. There are two ways to use the calendar files: Either the Web-IO Time Switch can take the iCal files from the URL at which the calendar file is stored. directly from the server of the online calendar provider; or the files are manually loaded as needed into the device from a local hard drive.

To switch repeating signals, light, door and gate or other opening or appointment time switching events the Time Switch can be used including all the advantages of the iCal standard, such as setting up repeating dates including exceptions and end dates as well as automatic compensation for standard and daylight saving time.
