Application for Web-IO Digital / Web & E-Mail:
Push notification for signal change via ntfy.sh
Faults or operating states in automation, building technology or other technical equipment are often indicated by means of digital outputs. Corresponding sensors often provide potential-free contacts or voltage carrying or current driving outputs for connecting signal lamps or other signal generators.
These are just the sort of signal sources that the Web-IO Digital can communicate with.
Whenever a signal change is detected, the Web-IO sends an HTTPS request to the server from ntfy.sh
ntfy.sh is a public messaging service. It is topic-oriented, i.e. notifications are sent by specifying unique topic names. To receive notifications, the relevant topic names must be subscribed.
These are not closed groups, rather anyone knowing the name of the topic has access to the notifications sent there.
You can download the app needed for receiving from the common providers (Google Play, App-Store) but you also have access via the web browser at ntfy.sh.
The existing network is used as the communication channel. An email message can also be sent to multiple recipients.
This lets you ensure that fault reporting signals such as are generated when limits are exceeded for example are also noticed by responsible personnel even if they are present for only a short time.
Preparations
Configure Web-IOs for interaction with ntfy.sh
For browser access to the Web-IO the Web-UIO must already have an IP address.

For Actions select the HTTP(S) request and enter URL https://ntfy.sh/display name as the request method select POST. The messages to display are written in the fields Payload and Clear Payload.
-
When the switching state changes, the corresponding message appears.
