Web-IOs now also with OPC UA

The Web-IO range from Wiesemann & Theis now supports OPC UA, one of the most essential common communication standards. Now Web-IOs can make even older machines, controllers and measuring devices viable for the future.

The Web-IOs allow traditional automation components and various measuring points to communicate with any other machine, terminal device, system or cloud. Thanks to the OPC UA industrial protocol the corresponding data can be integrated as OPC UA nodes into numerous IoT and Industry 4.0 applications - regardless of the platform, manufacturer, devices used, or complexity of the application.

With the Web-IO 4.0 Digital units 24V or 230V switching signals can be gathered and monitored over the network even from older applications. They also function as a network remote switch. The Web-IO 4.0 Analog provides analog in- and outputs from traditional components over the network. This lets you read external sensors or control actuators for example. Thanks to the Web Thermometer sensor data such as temperature, barometric pressure and relative humidity as well as CO2 concentration can be easily acquired and integrated into Industry 4.0 applications.

All Web-IOs also support Web standards such as HTTP(S), email and FTP as well as MQTT, REST, Modbus-TCP and OPC DA including the comprehensive socket API. With the compact housing for DIN rail mounting they are ideal for installation in the control cabinet or sub-distribution panel.

The entire Web-IO range can be found at www.wut.de/webio. All devices can be tested for 30 days at no charge.

Wiesemann & Theis was founded in 1979 by Reinhard Wiesemann and Rüdiger Theis. 50 employees at the headquarters in Wuppertal produce interface and network technology products. In 2001 Wiesemann & Theis introduced the first industrial temperature with network interface, the Web Thermometer, meeting the needs of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things through technologies mastered over twenty plus years of experience.
