Press Release January 2024

Passing the baton at Wiesemann & Theis

Tobias Theis takes over leadership of network specialists W&T.

At the turn of the year, Rüdiger Theis has handed over management of the company to his son Tobias Theis after nearly 40 years at the helm. With five years of experience in various departments, the Master of Engineering graduate most recently held the position of Head of Development, providing a meaningful basis for the expanded responsibilities as Managing Director. Rüdiger Theis will remain at W&T as a brand ambassador while increasing his personal involvement with the Winzig Foundation he founded.

When it comes to the future of W&T, Tobias Theis is focusing on combining the tried and tested with new ideas. The recipe for success of this established component manufacturer has always been reliability and high quality, with respect to both products and service. With their customary commitment supported by know-how built up over decades, the company is now poised to enter the next generation: with new and constantly evolving products, realized in an active and mutually beneficial exchange with partners and customers.

Founded in 1979, Wiesemann & Theis GmbH with its 50 employees develops microcomputer and network technology. In addition to the Web-IO, Web-Sensors and USB/Com-Server product families, its range is constantly growing to include IT security products and other devices for industry, office and IT. Back in 2001, W&T introduced the Web Thermometer, the first industrial temperature sensor to offer a network interface, and can thus draw on over 20 years of experience in Industry 4.0 and IoT .
