Product properties:

  • Transmission of data lines RxD and TxD plus
    hardware handshake lines RTS and CTS
  • Electrical isolation to almost any extent between the connected devices
  • Separate power supply, therefore
    • independent from the capability of the connected RS232 interface
    • Suitable for notebook interfaces
  • Extended supply voltage range up to 24V

Background information:
RS232 interfaces do not always supply the power necessary for smart solutions with supply voltage-free fiber-optic interfaces. Especially as regards the notebook interfaces, energy saving measures to extend the operating time can lead to a situation where the maximum fiber-optic transmission distance of 100 m is not always available. For such cases, the FOC <> RS232 interface, Industry, offers a solution by providing a separate power supply.
